Backflow Tester Certification Course, Seneca, SC

Course Overview

This program will instruct students in backflow mechanics and how cross connections can be addressed and/ or eliminated. State regulations will be presented and explained. Palmetto Alliance Institute will teach testing procedures for the PVB, DCVA, and RP devices. Students will test, troubleshoot, and repair these devices as part of the workshop. 15 hours of CEU credit will be awarded for this program. Completion of this training is a prerequisite for certification as a Backflow Prevention Device Tester in South Carolina. In order to receive certification, DHEC will require that students attend all four days of the workshop, pass a written exam, pass a hands-on exit exam, and own or have clear access to the appropriate testing equipment. You are not required to purchase testing equipment prior to the workshop.

Attendees must be present and prepared to begin training promptly at 8:00 a.m. every morning of the workshop. This training will include several extended sessions where the students are testing, troubleshooting and doing minor repairs on PVB, DCVA, and RP devices. Cost: $399.00 per person for the four days. The cost will cover all necessary training materials. Please bring your own paper and pen. We will award fifteen hours of CEU credits for those who successfully complete this training. Lunches are not included with this fee.

In the event that a student is not able to attend due to extenuating circumstances, you may request a. refund, or a transfer to another class. After you are confirmed to the class (approximately 3 weeks before the class) you will not be eligible for a refund.

Written/Wet Lab Performance

Every student will be given a 60 question written exam and must have a passing score of a 70% or higher.  Each student

will also have to complete a wet lab performance exam.

CEU's and Certification

Each student that successfully completes the course will receive 15 CEU's, and their backflow certification card.  Each tester certification are valid for a period of 3 years.
